5 wonderful things to do if you can't afford travel

Traveling around the world is almost everyone's dream. The learnings that we absorb during our travel journeys stick with us for a lifetime. Most of our yearning for travel is palpable and relatable. But not all of us can afford those expensive vacations. Some of us simply don't have the time to travel often. We can obtain similar soul satisfying experiences from a few other endeavours when travel isn't on our cards. Here I list 7 classy things to do when you can't afford travel.  1. Reading books📚, travel books, magazines and everything you love to devour : I fondly recollect hearing from one of my inspirations, "When we can't travel, we read". Books are a great way to escape into another world. The joy of swimming through a good book is something only book lovers can vouch for. Travel books proffer an experience that is very close to getting transported to another world. In fact, it's much better than watching travel shows, although you can combine ...

Self help techniques to improve efficiency

I recollect that the first self-help book that I read was in school, years back. It was Stephen Covey's "7 habits of highly effective people". I remember a friend mentioning: it's important to breathe. It's so very true. Let's invigorate in the healing arms of nature. Let's breathe ! Can you guess the places in London in the photographs below?  Hint: Some are places most travellers and Londoners would have certainly visited.                   Solitary green            Hue of love                                                                                                            Supreme blue  Melange   ...

Basic key to fitness

Most of today’s generation are lumbering their way up—scrambling for success—with little or no concern for physical and mental health. Sometimes, it’s just not fair to blame ourselves. Pressures and the challenges of the real world are pulling us towards a sedentary life combined with unhealthy dietary practices.   It in indeed unfortunate that under-nutrition is prevalent across regions, regardless of financial status; although, the situation has slowly begun ameliorating over the last many years due to the efforts of health awareness advocates.  Simple exercises along with a balanced diet are, in my view, sufficient for good health.  This write-up may help busy career professionals, who wish to keep it simple: The four basic essentials for a complete exercise regime are:  1. Warm-up, stretching    & Suryanamaskar I follow the FFD program warm up sessions. It’s a wonderful program. Basic guidance is  available on YouTube. As for stretching, leadi...
